How this system handles your information

Last updated October 28, 2026

Who keeps your record

The alumni office of College of Computer Studies is the personal information controller. Questions and requests go to alumni@example.edu.

What is collected

  • Name, graduation year, program, and student number.
  • Contact details you enter: email address, mobile number, address.
  • Career details: occupation, company, position, industry, employment status, location.
  • Links you add yourself: Facebook, LinkedIn, other profiles.
  • From Facebook Login, only what Meta releases for the permissions granted: your Facebook ID, name, profile picture, and email address if you allow it.

Why it is collected

Alumni relations and events, graduate tracer studies, employment statistics for accreditation, and verification that a person claiming to be a graduate actually is one.

What other people can see

You choose. Each field in your profile has a visibility switch, and contact details are hidden by default. Only verified alumni appear in the public directory. Administrators of the alumni office can see complete records, and every administrator action is written to an audit log.

Facebook access tokens

Access tokens are stored on the server so your Facebook sign-in keeps working. They are never displayed in the interface, never exported, and are deleted with your account. The system does not post to Facebook and does not read your friends, posts, or messages.

How long it is kept

For as long as you remain in the alumni register, unless you ask for deletion. Login attempts and audit logs are kept for security review.

Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) you may access, correct, object to processing, or ask for erasure of your record, and you may lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. Editing is immediate from your profile page. For deletion, see the data deletion page.
